Thank you for the video Dan. I started my company a year ago and recently got interest for an acquisition so your advice is very much appreciated!

My notes.
Dan Martell: How To Decide If You Should Sell Your SaaS Startup or Not
5 Questions to ask yourself when considering an exit
1. Passion or exhaustion? Are you still in love with the customer or problem you're solving?
2. If crushing? If you were crushing your business, would you stay? If so, then fix the problem in your business.
3. Build it again? If, after you sell, you would simply build the same business, then stay. Give yourself permission to do the things you are not doing in your business, that if you were, would keep you excited about staying in the business.
4. Pivot or persevere? Make it a team question, and discuss it on a regular basis. Make it just part of the process, so it is not a potentially scary thing for the team.
5. Perfect execution? An acquirer is buying your xx years of perfect execution. There is value in those years, that the acquirer doesn't have to go through. Are you getting that value?
Takeaways: If you are an owner, these are exceptionally good questions to ask yourself on at least an annual business. I especially like the idea of asking it with the team on a regular basis. As with similar videos, there are additional links to follow for a deeper dive that would be worth following if you are struggling with answering any of the five questions.
