I received my motor covers today and decided to research on any negatives of having the cover encasing the motor. I found that there was no real downside to using them. Living in Central Texas where it is very dusty and in a major drought these days I wanted to protect my motors from debris. I also live in a wooded forest where the pollen is heavy in the fall and spring. I did not find the motors were getting any hotter with them on. Thanks for the information in the video it convinced me it is a good accessory to have. Keep up the good work I am enjoying your video's and have subscribed.

i have installed those and it's working perfectly, also protects my motors from debris, dirt, and water, thanks for your explanations rick! I would recommend them also your screw set magnetic ;-)
installed the red ones and it looks amazing an I got protection 2 in 1 ;-)

Great video. When is a good idea to switch propellers if they look good and have no signs of damage? Also, can the included DJI screwdriver be used for the motor guard installation?

Thank you for the review and pointing out the different types of covers. I have contemplated putting a tiny bit of loctite on the screws, what is your opinion on that? Your input would be greatly appreciated.

None of my other quads use motor covers. All have exposed coils. I've never had a problem of any kind with debris in the motor

I have no worries. I bought the red alu ones. Very good idea. Finally the motors are covered. Also changed all the propellers.

I love this video and content. Ive been telling people for well over a year since I bought my mini. Most everyone disagrees and thinks its going to cause overheating and weight issues which the weight part is only common sense, that a gram or 2 isn't gonna make any significant difference. You are not gonna get a citation over a just a gram or 2 of weight. Ive done my own test as far as heat and I have a very expensive thermal laser thermometer and it doesn't cause ANY temp change. Thanks for this video you ALWAYS cover the perfect content that is most important and you have a way, unlike myself of explaining everything where everyone understands. Again thank you so much for your contributions you are my first person I look to when I have a drone question or something I don't understand

Thrilled that you did a review on the motor covers but do wish you also checked the motor temperatures after hovering and not just after flight.

Got my covers today bought my mini 2 last week. Because mini 2 cost 500 euro and mini 3 cost 1000euro so it was easy. I bought mini 2 because 10000kr or 1000euro are to much for me with two kids 9 and 14 years old. So i am very happy that i could buy mini 2. But i need more battery. But i will buy little every month.
