It was originally reported as a 6.7, then a 6.0, then a 5.1, then a 5.2

The most interesting part was the early warning system. That was pretty cool.

Sending thoughts to everyone in San Diego. That 5.2 quake was a serious shake - hoping everyone is safe and checking in on loved ones. ❤

That earthquake felt way stronger than a 5.2. I’m in Carlsbad

I was more worried about the warning that popped up on my phone. Then all I felt was a nudge, and sat back down.

I was in school, all the students were freaking out and we could hear the glass rattling!! It was scary! We all ran outside when it was happening and stayed there for a while

What, exactly, is the point of driving for 1.5 hours to Julian only to stand around and look at people who have already moved on?
I remember the Northridge quake. Not nearly as close as the Julian quake (lived in Poway), but that was a shaker for sure.

Animals express love and protection in their own way. Watching elephants form a protective circle during the earthquake is so touching. They remind us humans that every life is precious. We have the ability to choose kindness—by not harming or consuming animals and their offspring, we take a small step toward a more compassionate world. ❤🙏🙏

Yes, it does somehow make you feel alive! It’s the adrenaline that starts pumping. I felt it in San Carlos. That was the best/most we have felt in years. Very short, just a few seconds, no damage (except, perhaps, for our poor, already broken foundation). It certainly got my morning started!

I lived in Chula Vista in 1985 when the a earthquake hit I believe it was on a Saturday morning around 930 or 10. I remember it lasting a good 10 15 seconds

My phone alert at the time said it was 6.2

What's really interesting is that you need earthquakes. They're actually necessary, they release tension that has been building up for years. What you don't need is plate tectonics that create tension that's not released until maybe 30, 40 or a hundred years and then all of a sudden you got a massive big earthquake.

I reside in a single story bungalow near Balboa Park in San Diego. It was super, super mild. The earthquake alarm system awoke me, the house shook a bit, and I went back to sleep. Not a big deal at all.

I was in San Diego back around 1990 when there was a ~5.0 earthquake just off the coast of Oceanside. I was in a three-story building next to Shelter Island on the top floor when the equipment table started shaking. I flew down the three flights of stairs and out into the parking lot, where the seagulls on the light poles were having trouble staying on the swaying poles. Then it was over.
I blame tectonic plate movement.

In the valley Oceanside California, frames fell off the walls decorations fell off the tables. I just got on my knees and asked Jesus to protect my home and family.

Oh my God! Those home security camera images That wasn't even newsworthy footage. When Chip gets to Jillian, he is going to find out the coffee that was spilled in the local dinners has already been cleaned up. He should stay for the pie though.
