Cabin House Build Episode 6: Windows and Doors

We are working hard at building a cabin style house in Alaska! The house is inspired by traditional Alaska cabins for heating efficiency and affordable, ease of building.

There's not alot of windows and doors - this keeps the building, heating and maintenance costs down. But we did put in some big beautiful south facing windows on the front, that are the main windows shared by the kitchen, dining and living rooms, and other common areas. Why put more windows in more rooms, when the same rooms can enjoy the same windows?

85 is hot regardless of where you are located. Now here in central Alabama we consider 85 this time of the year either a cold front or what happens after a thunderstorm but it's still hot. iF you toss a high humidity in with 85 it will zap you quick when doing manual labor like building. Love the content!!

Clever use of the kreg jig for door jamb extention... installing doors used to frustrate me, I hated shimming. I always learn something new from you guys, maybe I can give doors a second chance now. Jacob did a nice job and made it look so easy...
