Показать описание
We all get sick at times, but usually we get better and life continues. But sometimes the disease is here to stay and as it prolongs it becomes a chronic illness. Common chronic disease and conditions include: arthritis, asthma, cancer, diabetes, multiple sclerosis and depression.
This program will explore Bowen Family Systems theory provides a broader view of the origin and expression of chronic illness in contrasts with an individual’s cause and effect perspective. We will explore the connection between chronic illness and family relationships--a connection that is often off of our radar screen, when we think about chronic illness.
My guest is Elieen Gottlieb. Mrs. Gottlieb has studied Bowen theory for nearly 40 years. She has served as Education Director of the Florida Family Research Network coordinating, developing and presenting programs in Bowen theory throughout the state of Florida. She and her colleague, Jeffrey Miller also created Bowen Theory South Florida, a training program for clinicians and other professionals. Mrs. Gotlieb has studied chronic illness in her own family over a ten year period her observations will soon be published.
