I was trying to understand. what the problem was. I mean Spectacular Spider-man didn't appear to have a wide range of detail(oh it did).
But then it became obvious.
Two things are the problem.
With the exception of a bit of the train scene. There are no shadows. Nothing is casting a shadow on the body or environment. In broad daylight there is not a shadow. Either this is a rough scene or basic animation has been thrown out the window.
Then objects that are much farther away have no Depth of Field. Everything is in focus, which is making it super flat. So it looks like a stage.
Spectacular Spider-man also used interesting angles and moved the environment as opposed to moving the figures in an X/Y direction.
If this is the animation we can expect, this is a trainwreck. The sneak peak opening has a fully suited spiderman casting no shadows on himself. If it's still a scene in progress with certain bits removed, the dialogue needs work.

Now I reallyy miss The Spectacular Spider-Man, The future is getting worse and worse with cartoons now..but.. I'll give this a chance only because Peter Parker is my favorite fictional character ever
