Would love some tips about how to compose stock music as opposed to non-stock music. I feel like my leads are the problem atm and are standing out too much, making it not sound like a stock track, but I'm honestly not sure. Seems like there are very few songs with sustained leads in stock music, plucks are a lot more common (I make electronic/EDM type stuff mainly). But yeah that's my issue right now, my tracks are not sounding "stock" enough but at the same time "stock" is so hard to define, I don't know if I should even be trying to make my songs sound a certain way at all.

Thanks for clearing that up! The only thing that bothers me right now is the quality of the content. You see, I concider myself to be more of an advanced-producer. What I mean by that is I can write songs, but making them sound polished and high-end would be a hard thing to do (excecially when it comes to mastering).
What is your opinnion on that? Is it necessary to be an expert-level sound engineer to make money on stock music?
