The Ohio governor gave the ok to burn the chemicals, with no regard for the environment or people. His priority was opening the tracks ! !.

When I was mayor of my village in the Midwest I never saw my position as "Part-time". If you run for the office you own the package if you win. When a Poly Vinyl Chloride plant in the village 6 miles away exploded it took out the power in three counties leaving our little town the only one capable of pumping water for the fire trucks due to installation of generators on our well pumps. Our Fire department was totally professional and provided pumping operations for the next 36 hours until the power was restored in the other towns. We handled ESDA and FEMA and the Press while volunteers handled many issues such as food for the workers and evacuation procedures. I didn't ask for that to happen but the fact of the matter is that it did.
I have already called that mayor out in another place for his lack of responsibility. He, by any and all means, should be holding all of these agencies' feet to the fire for his residents. He should be in Norfolk's face, in FEMA's face, etc. until he sees EVERY need being met. Those people don't need him if they have to do it for themselves.
You shouldn't be arguing with your people mayor. You should be yelling at those people sitting behind you with them. That is YOUR town and it doesn't belong to those a^&holes that are dragging their feet in responding to a disaster of their own making. Make them listen to you.

If you don't have time to commit yourself fulltime in times like these, DON'T RUN FOR MAYOR. He should step down and let someone else who has the time .

If the government was serious they wouldn't have allowed NS to repair or lay new track until all of his constituents were taken care of and their homes and environmental concerns were dealt with. Someone needs to remind the Mayor this is his "real" job. He ran for office and accepted the responsibility.

How do you say you're owned by the railroad without saying you are owned by the railroad?

:Looks at the Mayor:.

These poor people are litterally on their own...even the mayor doesn't "Mayor" full time. It's just horrifying how the government doesn't do anything to help them. Here they are a month later getting poisoned day by day. My heart is breaking over this.
