Unboxing & Testing the Sequre SQ-001. A mini soldering iron with a built-in micro processor chip. What do you think? Something that we need in the radio-controlled hobby?

I must say that everything seemed to work in the test, even when operating at 12V (the lowest voltage setting). If you're interested in more specifications please feel free to pause the video at selected points.

The RC Car that you see in the video is the Tamiya Dual Hunter 4WD 1/10 Monster Truck. Recently I've been starting to use the EC5 connectors in my more "power-demanding" cars and bigger 2-3S LiPo battery packs. But once in a while, especially with a chassis like the WR-01 that requires the old-style rounded batteries (and therefore making most of my larger 2-3S LiPo batteries unusable) I would still like to be able to use some of my smaller and older batteries with the deans plug. Hopefully some day I will have all plugs more coordinated, but until that happens I have started to make a couple of EC5 adaptors. While my soldering skills are somewhat questionable, the SQ-001 seemed to handle the job great.

Looks like a very capable tool, Mikael. Very nicely presented, too. I like the way that you can easily adjust the temperature and how quickly it heats up. The only issue for me is the need for a separate power supply. Now you can enjoy all those little soldering jobs! All the best, bro! :)

You know that little sponge just to put water on it.

I might have to persuade my dad to get one. He uses a soldering iron that has no smart features.
