It is a super idea. This project benefit all countries not just China. Other countries can use this network to trade among them. Be opened mind and see the results. Don't be against it. This project makes our world better.

This is why Singapore has been able to develop and progress, always looking on the bright side and seizing every opportunity for the benefit of the people.

It good to see the debt trap misconception is slowly fading away with many Singapore analyst sees its beneficial to Singapore companies. Actually like how the Chinese people love going into debt purchasing lots of property around the world, we see their govt invest massively in property in BRI. As a chinese, i think most of us see this as good debt which have long term financial gains instead of a debt trap

Green and also digital sphere is where Singapore can contribute and also participate in the BRI and its good that China has also pivoted to Green initiative for its BRI drive and infrastructure.

To me, Singapore is not directly connected nor benefitting directly from the bri. Unsure till now why we are in this since no high speed trains linking our island to China. Beside the rmb exchange opportunity which still needs to compete with hk, london & black markets in the region, the rest of the opportunities for Singapore are more arbitrary in nature. E.g. the "Green" opportunity comes in only much later when criticisms emerged around 2016 or 2018(?). This obviously happened by chance rather than foresights. Perhaps Singapore Government can present the total cost it has invested and the direct revenue it has reaped so far in the past 10 years since the bri inception. The other ventures can happen as long as those few entrepreneurs mentioned can afford to take risk, venture / participate even without connect to the bri. Thus most of the reasons presented in this video seem a little forceful for me that bri appears very beneficial for Singapore. It is in the same light as trying to justify the humongous losses Singapore had suffered at Suzhou decades ago which many might have subtlely forgotten.

BRI is just like a service brand, if you need and trust it then go buy and enjoy the service. There’s nothing more need to speculate.

Will Singapore really want to work with China on Belt & Road or would it actually prefer to be in the good books of America as its obedient vassal state?

Singapore has done a great gambling by betting on US by sending their future Prime Minister to visit US yet sent a very junior Minister to attend the Belt n Road gathering in China.

Singapore needs more land. BRI can help increase land reclamation for even larger port and airport expansions. For one thing, Singapore needs a lot of sand to do that, so why not get the sand from China as part of BRI investments. Pretty sure any real estate created in Singapore will be prime real estate.

Singapore has the opportunity to compliment China's BRI and China in general, nothing is to be gained economically by being anti-BRI. Unfortunately CNA is an unnecessary hindrance to Singapore politically, its productions are too anti-China to be neutral. China may be cordial but is unlikely to trust Singapore.

With Singapore as a solid financial hub of this region, thus collaboration will gradually establish in many
aspects with trusts & avoid political influence.

If your PM wasn't even invited to the BRI forum which was attended by 130 heads of state including all the rest of Asean' s heads, what does that signify? Why not make a video on this explain this? Understand he wasn't invited to the BRI 1st Forum, too. Why?

The BRI is truly the road to the future for mankind so l think we should understand it’s significance and support it. But sadly an insecure US is hell bent on undermining it. BRI shows up the glaring difference between the Chinese practical and magnanimous attitude and the ruthless self importance of the US. The BRI build roads and bridges to peace and prosperity, while the US build military bases to war and destruction.

Singapore has no chance to join the BRI, American controlled Singapore policy. This 2023 was not invited.

But of Course BRI is not perfect, there is always risk in doing business.
😁 Maybe this video can be view as advertisement for the project, that's what all business doing.
Compare to Western media accuse others "debt trap" which they are doing themselves.

12-7-2022 Britain-based charity Debt Justice:
35% of African gov debt is owed to Western lenders compared to 12% owed to Chinese lenders
The average interest rate on Western loans is 5%, compared to 2.7% Chinese lenders.
Debt Justice, formerly Jubilee Debt Campaign, exists to build collective power to end debt that exploits people and the planet.
Debt Justice is a part of a global movement to end unjust debt and the poverty and inequality it perpetuates. Only together can we build a fair economy that serves people and the planet.
We are a UK based charity founded in 1996.
