Adam, this information on voice leading makes so much sense to me for a couple of reasons. One reason is that you can stay in the same neighborhood on the fretboard without racing to the next grip; it’s so much more efficient. Another advantage is that the close voicings just sound so hip.

Good examples of tunes have changes that “appear” to be unrelated but sound good are most Wayne Shorter tunes. Can they even be analyzed, at all?
