TRIVIA: Scheduled for episode 39 of season 7 of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" never aired on the NBC Television network because the finale, by 1960s standards, was deemed "too gruesome" by sponsor Revlon. The following season, the show became The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, thus rendering the half-hour episode unusable.

Good heavens, people were so upset by zero onscreen violence that this became a lost episode? The most gruesome bit was Hugo’s total innocence; poor kid and his happy little face. “Smile, Irene!”

Anyway the pizza ad was a missed opportunity for tomato sauce.

Originally scheduled for the end of the 1960-'61 season. NBC vetoed the episode because they considered it "too gruesome" to be seen by a "family" audience [at the time, Hitchcock was scheduled on Tuesdays at 8:30pm(et)]. It was eventually seen in syndication.
