When I retired from the Army, Jimmy Carter was in and out of the hospital with a brain disease. Yet he still sent me a letter of appreciation for my service. Obama, on the other hand, was perfectly healthy but could not be bothered to send a letter. This speaks volumes about the character of each man. RIP President Carter.

As a republican, some of these comments are disgusting.. however you feel about his politics you can't deny he wasn't incredibly hardworking, honest, and above all, sincere. Shame on anyone in the comments mocking him or calling him the worst president, when it is undeniable that he tried with all his heart to improve society both after, and DURING his presidency. Now is not a time for cruelty. I can only wish that President Carter and First Lady Rosalynn are together now.

Jimmy Carter even said once that he wasn’t that good as president, but he was one amazingly exceptional humanitarian. A very humble and kind person. I am also happy that he got to realize he wasn’t the worst president after all, we have that now. Enjoy Heaven sir 💯👍🏼

I'll always remember the very early morning live announcement from President Carter taking full responsibility for the tragic failure of the Iranian hostage rescue mission. No dodging, weaving, evasion or blaming others. He stepped up, whether good or bad. A truly decent person.
