Have fun making fireworks in a jar using a few simple ingredients!

Materials:
3/4 cup water
3 tbsp oil
Food coloring
Fork
A Glass
A small bowl

Directions:
1-Add 3/4 cup of water to a glass.
2-In a small bowl, add 2 tbsp of oil, and a few drops of food coloring. Mix the food coloring with a fork.
3-Add in the small bowl of oil to the glass of water and watch as the food coloring falls into the water, similar to fireworks.

Explanation:
Oil is less dense than water. By mixing the food coloring with the oil, and then adding both into the water, the oil and food colors sits in a layer on top of the water. There’s a slight delay of the food coloring entering the water but since it is more dense than oil, it will sink into the water. So when the colors start to enter the water, it starts to diffuse out in a beautiful, firework type pattern because coloring the entire water. Enjoy!
