In his 5th defense of the WBA Lightweight championship Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini would suffer just his second career loss when he was stopped in the 14th round by Livingston Bramble, a 4-1 underdog.

Mancini would take significant punishment throughout this bout, including cuts on both eyelids that would require stitches after the bout. Bramble would hurt Mancini in the 14th round and eventually force the stoppage after nearly two dozen unanswered punches, though Mancini would manage to stay on his feet.

Eight months later Mancini would get a rematch with Bramble, but would again come up short, losing a 12-round unanimous decision.

This is another 1 that I love watching because everyone counted Bramble out an Mancini this Mancini that an Livingston took Mancini apart, 1 highlight that's all he got a Championship fight with 1 highlight, can you believe that, but if Boom-Boom would have won, I bet there would be slow-motion replays for an hour straight, and interviews, endorsements, probably even a cheque right there?, I love this fight!
