🤔 Phillies’ broadcasters: Francisco Lindor’s casual throw was unprofessional | #shorts | NYP Sports

The Phillies’ television broadcasters took some issue with Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor’s lob throw to first to complete a double-play.

In the fifth inning, with Kody Clemens on first, Edmundo Sosa lined a ball right at Lindor a short for an out.

Clemens broke for second right away so it made for an easy double-play for the first two outs of the innings of the Mets’ eventual 4-1 win at Citi Field on Wednesday.

It was a safe smart play. Lindor’s Baseball IQ is obviously higher than this announcer.

Have Lindor batting 5th instead of 6th solely because no one else has been too consistent either. Maybe Alvarez at 5..

He did not do it to show up ANYBODY! It was a very smart play by Lindor!
Not wanting to possibly sail the throw, or short hopping it to the 1st baseman.
I’m a die hard Phillies fan and I’m wondering why Ben Davis and Tom McCarthy didn’t recognize the reasons of why Lindor lobbed the ball to 1st base. The announcers are actually very knowledgeable in their jobs… but not this time.
