The actors who played prisoners in the concentration camp were actually cancer patients who were awaiting treatment. This is why they look so emaciated.

I would hate to be the casting agent. Ain’t no sunshine and smiles to be found in that room.

Actually pretty sweet that these ppl that were all sick were making an awesome historical show that they’d be remembered on forever + make money for their family. I think that’s pretty bad ass to be that weak and have the courage to go through filming a movie.

Are we all forgetting the fact they probably got paid well and or got some help with treatment from the studio for helping with the project if this is true. Also they probably wanted to help preserve and show an accurate depiction of history.

The depressing thing is that even though these extras were people with illness and the makeup and wardrobe departments made them look in worse condition than they already were, the actors were _still_ not as emaciated as the real concentration camp inmates.

Helping people make cash who definitely need it nice actually.

As long as they got paid for treatment, I'm fine with it.

I believe they were actually people with health problems. It says in the Band of Brothers podcast in the "Why We Fight" episode (of the podcast)

These Make-A-Wish requests are getting weird.

I believe they did something similar in "Schindler's List". Hospital patients playing inmates. Because healthy extras would not be emaciated enough.

My mother, aroun 20, swiss, serve as nurse in the Swi😂ss Red Cross, to care
t these dead-alive. She said that she could carried a man of 40 on his arm.
She brought the french of this people to Paris.
Then she worked in Villejuif, a famous, hospital in Paris who is specifically oriented for people with cancer. You can imagine what it was with poor thérapeutique at this time.
M The my mother became nutritionnist...

And began to smoke the "Gauloise, black tabac without filter, during this hard time.

She lived until her 96, with her brain still fast, she spoke fluency four language, play piano and read Russian literature

The Mayor of a small town, in
France wanted to give her the french citysenships when she was retired, but she had a strong personality and said, " I dont want to become french for money.."
So, it is just a testimony.,

Hard working with such survived people..and she began to smoke.

Je t'aime maman. 🌹🌹🌹

In German-occupied Europe and postwar, in Germany itself, adults were often subsisting on 1, 200 calories a day or even less, as opposed to the healthy norm of at least 2, 000, and film of street scenes shows few overweight people.

Wow… I was absolutely not expecting that after watching nice reels about how accurate /good acting.
That was erm… slightly surprising and I’m not sure where to take that information 😅

"Waiting treatment".
There's so much wrong with that statement. They must be on that awesome "free" socialized healthcare that is so awesome.

They got paid twice as much as other extras.

Chemotherapy is what makes cancer patients look like that

They were probably requested if they want to be in a movie in exchange for money or help with there treatment
