Why My Last Video Was Terrible:

Dendro and Electro are confusing enough! I shouldn't add to it by not explaining myself properly for thousands of people to see! Let me go over why I messed up! #genshin #genshinimpact

"I dont think the meta will shift"

Honestly i think the main point of the new reactions is not that it will shift the meta but rather will WIDEN the meta. Gameplay wise having more options is way better but also from a business perspective its a good change. A wider META means more viable units meaning easier time selling more characters. I'm pretty sure this update has increased keqings popularity and she is no longer a bad pull and at the end of the day isnt that a good thing?

I feel that Aggravate mainly is a buff for multi-hitters, as it doesn't have a single reaction before going away. Keqing seems to get a LOT if mileage out of Aggravate, while Shogun gets less. This brings electro up AND gives the element more of an identity of rapid quick attacks.

fischal's 4th ascention talent has no icd and usually does 80% of attack. if she has 2000 attack and 300 em, her base scaling goes from 1600 to over 4800. literally TRIPLES the damage from that talent. it will double her scaling even with NO em.

The thing I love about the new reactions is that they are consistent with literally next to no inconsistency at all. It also introduces new and fun ways to play the game which is good imo.

I'm just happy it opens up new play styles and more characters to be used. It shook up the formula at least in the middle tiers!

Been watching ever since the destiny 1 days, love the way you're able to take accountability and sometimes it feels people come after you because of how well you take in what they say and their projection. Just a thought, much love Tash I appreciate the explanations the game makes these concepts so convoluted sometimes.

I think the problem is that you make an unfair comparison between vaporize/melt and aggravate...Vaporize/Melt has its advantages, and benefits from characters that have high damage hits, but only ONE character benefits from the reaction. Quicken benefits from any electro or dendro hit, no matter how little damage it deals, because it doesn't depend on talent % or attack, it's a flat damage bonus... apart from that, ALL characters can benefit from quicken, not just main dps. On a team like Keqing/Fischl/Kazuha/DMC everyone benefits from aggravate/spread, even Kazuha because electro swirls benefits from aggravate. In Vaporize, only Hu Tao benefits from Vaporize because she removes the aura, and you would need a lot of elemental application for 2 characters to benefit (Funerational). Electro doesn't remove any aura, and you can do aggravates and spreads at the same time with no problem.

fischl's passive is part of the reason why everyone says aggravate is so strong.

For vap : if 200% multiplier vap ->300%. For quicken: assuming every quicken equals to affectively 50% multiplier, if 200% hit at once, it only end up to 250%;; however, if 200% split into two hit, both can react, the result will be (100%+50%)x2 and the final will still be 300%. Hence for quicken, more hits are rewarded comparing to one big hit. So the skill such as Fischl (not Fiscal) E, Miko E and Q, Keqing Q, Kuki Q and E will be more rewarding than for example Raiden's Q initial slash. Since this is flatten bonus, it kind of doesn't matter if the original multiplier is bad or not (in some degree) as long as you have a decent amount of hits frequency and EM.

I think this video does a bit of a better job than the last one. I still don't agree with the premise and a lot of what you said was straight up wrong, but I can definitely see your point.

In terms of the reactions specifically, I agree that vaporize is better and you could even argue that it's easier to build around since only one character does most of the damage.

My argument is, once you have built characters other than your dps to a good level, aggravate starts edging out over most vaporize teams as it boosts team damage to a higher degree than vaporize. In vaporize, it's just your Pyro carry who benefits from the reaction, whereas in quicken teams, your electro, dendro and anemo units all benefit from it.

There's also the fact that Fischl's 4th ascension passive is broken. So any time any character procs aggravate, Fischl also procs aggravate.

Two points before ending it

I think comparing dendro to international is a bit unfair. There's a reason why that team has been the best team in the game ever since it's inception, and why the units released later like kokomi, Ayato and even yelan, couldn't replicate it's success.

It goes beyond just being able to vaporize. The team works because of the synergy between it's characters. It's almost like the max potential of a vaporise team and unless they release the same characters with bigger numbers, it probably won't be topped; atleast not by a pure vaporise team.

Lastly, dendro has just been released and there are currently only two dendro supports, who are a traveller variant and a 4 star. The only dendro dps character is a standard 5 star. I think it's fair to say it can only get better from here, and elements ultimately depend on characters.

Nobody would be calling vaporise broken if Xiangling and hu tao didn't exist. Elements are ultimately only good for setting expectations of what a character might be able to do, and there are even plenty if outliers like Thoma, who isn't good in vaporize and has instead become a burgeon carry, or Diluc and yoimiya who can only vaporise 50-60% of their damage meaning they don't gain much from it.

Therefore, I think that instead of jumping to conclusions, it would be somewhat better to wait for there to be more dendro units.

It could be a 60% damage buff with medium damage. Or it could be 6% damage buff with a huge damage attack. OR it could be a 600% damage buff with a small hit.

Electro does a lot of small hits usually so it's huge for electro. Vaporize and Melt are good for buffing a big hit. Aggravate and spread are good for adding 4000 damage (that can crit btw) to every hit that reacts.

This is why the Tashed man is the best. He elaborates and explains and isn't afraid to make corrections

The thing is that you can make quicken and spread reactions happen more often than vape or melt

heavyo

When it comes to Melt/Vape vs Quicken, the difference is that for reverse vape and melt teams you need to reapply aura element after every 2 vapes or melts, which limits the amount of vapes/melts you can do. On the other hand, quicken does not have that restriction, so as long as you have quicken on the enemy you can apply as much electro and dendro as you like and trigger as much aggravate and spread as you like. For example, doing Hu Tao and Xiangling in one team with only Xingqiu isn't going to work as you don't have enough hydro to sustain 2 vaping units. However, doing Keqing and Fischl in one team with only Dendro MC does work as even with a crap ton of electro application, quicken uptime is not affected. In fact, Keqing + Fischl has amazing synergy since Fischl A4 mirrors all aggravates you trigger with Keqing.

There's also the fact that aggravate/spread teams can do both aggravate and spread at the same time, which is not something the current dendro units take advantage of due to applying too little dendro. Imagine if Kusanali has Xingqiu or Fischl level off field damage with a respectable ICD that can also trigger quicken at the same time you trigger aggravates with Fischl and Keqing.

7:50 <- This! This is exactly why electro/dendro is so good and why Keqing suddenly got a power boost. It's insane how many aggravates her burst can trigger. Not many consider how many times can you proc a vape or melt vs. aggravate. For example, if you vape/melt once every 1.5 seconds, but get say three, four or more aggravates in that same amount of time, suddenly the scales start to tip.

The main thing to take away from this is that neither is strictly better - you just have way more options to build a strong comp now.

Thx for explaining :) I still hadn’t understood the dendro reaction that well

Honestly, I don't feel like the original video was super misleading, but I like how you clarified and owned up. Gonna sub for that accountability, well done.

You also need to remember that Mihoyo gave many previous electro characters high multipliers to compensate for lack of reaction. So if they did give us a reaction like vape or melt it would have made the previous characters hit even harder

Appreciate the video. Can't help but feel us getting more reliable numbers would be a lot easier if Jinx and Tuner hadn't been essentially bullied out of this community.
