listening to probably a dozen other versions of this piece, I was left to wonder at the speed that seemed "standard" in the "con moto" section....almost as if all singers were in a race to finish....The sensuousness of the music suggested to me two lovers midst inguinal embrace and the persona, the singer's voice, in fact NOT waiting at all. With that thought in my head, the beauty of this piece was lost to me ie became a huge this video. As I am not a Russian speaker, I'm unsure of the actual translation(s) in English, so have been left with the music and though I have heard interpretations that suggest "I wait for you" in the last bar as a "triumph", left only to the music, and not at all given to the race to the finish that I most often have heard, I think this piece could be sung as if the "voice" indeed waits despite the knowledge that the loved one is NOT "long past you're coming, again I hear your words I thought were This singer, I believe has an better understanding of "wait" even though one's pulse a word, restraint which to me makes more sense if one is braying about "I wait for you"
