Every time I think Jellyfish, I think of that one guy who says: “these creatures have survived for Millions of years without a brain, a ray of hope for some of my fellow coworkers”

If I died and could be reborn as an animal or other life-form, I would be a jellyfish.
I would just float in the ocean without a care in the world, letting the waves carry me to who knows where.

Jellyfish and me have a respectful understanding of each other. I don't go into their ocean and they stay away from my house.

They’re so otherworldly, it’s incredible to think that a certain kind could be immortal that’s unbelievable

Shark: I'm the most feared creature in the sea!
Box jellyfish: Hold my mesoglea.

Jellyfish are my favorite animal.
I remember as a kid swimming in the greece sea, I saw a huge black spot.
I dove under the water to grab it, it was a giant darkbrown jellyfish, with a bunch of tiny fish underneath it.
At the time I was super scared, but now I appreciate it's beauty! :)

Of course it has 'Australia' on the name of the most venomous jellyfish. Is there like some evolutionary theories or explanation behind why most of the dangerous species existing today were originated from Australia?

They may harm you with a sting but, dear lord...jellyfish sure are beautiful creatures.

Had a small one stung me twice in a 1 minute span. Felt like a sudden surge of heat, like that burning feeling after being slapped, minus the actual slap impact.

Thank you for this :) This is very informative. Just a minor detail: I noticed that the organism shown in 3:26 looks like a comb jelly (ctenophoran) and not a jelly fish (cnidarian)

Hats off to the camera crew for all those beautiful yet terrifying closeups that were recorded in the making of this video purely for our education and enjoyment. Talk about suffering for your art!
