Hm being Giovanni's son was the best twist ever, especially since they teased in Fire Red/Leaf Green. Way to blow my mind years after the original games came out.

I love Silver, because he actually feels like a person. He's not all mean nor all nicey. He grows and recognizes his own mistakes. He feels... Human, you know?
And his story on the manga... like OMG I love his caracter so much.
Best rival for sure.

Silver is just one of those characters
you see grow
he starts off as a douche
then becomes more understandable
his father is the leader of team rocket
he stole a pokemon from professor elm
he only fights for power
he wants to be recognized
until later in the story...
you fight him at the pokemon league in johto
and he disappears later
and you see him in kanto
and he battles
he fights with a newfound strength
the strength of his partners
he even gives his feralitgator back to professor elm
and elm tells him to keep it
he then sets off, hoping to become a better person
trying not to become his father
and to become someone who can understand others better, and become closer with his partners.

and this my friends, is why i love Silver.

I have to admit, I like the thought of the rival being all like "Oh, I'm all better than you, blah blah blah", then starting to go... "You know what? You's alright."
It gives me a sense that the rival is... I dunno... Redeemable from his negative outlooks?

Guys, Silver is a HE. He has always been a male. The reason for him looking like a girl here is because japanese people think that when a man looks like a woman, it's when he is the most beautiful. So they are just implying that Silver is hot, but HE is a HE.
1. The picture is on angle, that's why his right shoulder is lower than his left shoulder.
2. The curve on his zipper is just a curve, because his jacket is maybe a little too long. No more.
On the other hand, nice job! This remix is very good <3 I have always loved the Silver Battle Theme.

You know, Silver had a very fast team, if he has Typhlosion, the only real slow Pokémon in his team is Magnezone (which likely is used to wall stuff). Crobat, Weavile, Alakazam and Gengar are all darn quick.

I love how everyone's just arguing about Silver's gender here lulz (He does have quite a feminine figure on this artwork, but he's definitely male.)
... Anyways, this remix sounds godly ^^- great job!

The shading wasn't done well, that is Silver's right shoulder. His body is turned to his right at an angle. In the game, the pronouns, his demeanor, and the police officer who appears in New Bark Town Laboratory give it away clearly. He is a boy the protagonist's age.

I'm surprised this is even being debated.

Gold was my first ever pokemon game and when heart gold and soul silver came out i was so happy and this remix of the rival from my favourite games made me even happier

As a late teen and young adult, fighting against Silver was remarkably refreshing. I noticed in his scripted dialogue he had more self awareness and personal growth than I realized most of my real life friends at the time had. I'd fight my friends teams (pokemon battle) and would always fall for the same strats and never changed things up even if they swapped out pokemon, rather than improve they just assumed I was too good (or maybe cheating)

I always remember the early days of antagonistic rivals with nostalgic fondness, but I'm not against friendlier rivals either. A mixture of both would be great to have in a game, especially when character development comes into play.

I am unsure of which version I prefer... the beats and mixes of this new version are truly awesome, but the instrumental solos (like the piano) I really liked it better on the first version. In any case, awesome job on both remixes, Glitch-chan!! =D
