I agree about The Couple Next Door - interesting story but absolutely no good people to root for except that poor baby.
I enjoyed Lock Every Door! It was such a crazy ride!

I’m glad I’m not the only one who got lost in The Eyre Affair. I’ll have to look for the audio...I don’t think I read as much as you did but I couldn’t follow it at all. Had a lot of good books in October: of course, The Dry. Turn of the Key. Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. I’ll Be Gone in the Dark. Not all “fun” reads but all pretty good. I’m with you on The Couple Next Door...fun read! My first Shari Lapena so want to read more. Great video, as always, Krista!

I liked My Cousin Rachel but as not as much as Rebecca 😊 I was suspecting Rachel throughout the book too.

Thank you so much for your honest review of Vox! I actually DNF’d the book and left a review explaining how offended I felt as a Christian by the book because it didn’t represent me as a Christian nor the Christian men in my life. Glad to hear someone else say they had issues with it.

Love, love, loved My Cousin Rachel. I just like Daphne du Maurier. My least fave by her so far is Jamaica Inn. Also loved Rebecca.

I, personally, did not care for Sing, Unburied, Sing. I finished it but it was not a fave for sure.

Sorry Krista, I owe you a note. I fell on October 23, and shattered my elbow and fractured my heel. Of coarse it's on my right side, which is my writing side. I've had two weeks of rehab and am home now. Lots of PT ahead. Missed not seeing your videos!!

I read Mary Barton last month and loved it! Try that one and Wives and Daughters:)

Wives and Daughters definitely has a more central plot than Cranford, for sure. Hopefully you like that one better!

I tried to read The Eyre Affair years ago, and quickly gave up. It was kind of a jumbled mess.
