I saw a field of organic wheat near Moses Lake a couple years ago where they actually cultivate between the rows of drilled in wheat . It was a picture perfect field . About 20 years ago I bought a single disk planter [ not two disk blades for seed to drop between ] at auction , I paid 25 dollars for it and used it for years until the shaft broke .

How fast does your wheat germinate? Is this type of wheat planted in the spring?

We would call that double disking [ that is overlapping half of the previous pass ] . Our sweet corn planted under plastic on March 26th is 3 inches out of ground on April 9th . We planted 7 days ahead of last year , should have selective picking by 4th of July for fresh eating . What should we plant this year that is going to make any money Hay is not worth much, there dumping potatoes & onions at feedlots & dairy's for cattle feed, beans not worth much . We can not get a sunflower contract this year or last year . I think we might see land rents go down ????
