I actually feel like Sonic being more flawed makes Shadow better too. If Sonic is this perfect character who is always in the right, then you can't have him and Shadow clash without making the latter and unreasonable jerk. Shadow in Prime works because his anger towards Sonic is justified, the conflict stems from their different views and ways of doing things.

I Hope we can get silver and blaze in maybe season 2. Blaze and silver are characters that come from different dimensions so it would only make sense

one thing i noticed is that each universe is focused on a specific character (new yoke city is tails, the jungle is amy, the pirate world is knuckles, and we'll see if rouge gets one for herself in the next episodes) and that specific character seems to be lacking a characteristic of theirs that was brought attention to. nine doesnt have tails' friends (note how in the scene where sonic is first drifting through the void, tails says he doesnt need an army because he has his friends), thorn doesnt have amys compassion and empathy, dread doesnt have knuckles' honor. it looks like the shatterspaces arent just for sonic, but for his friends also. something like how they'll have to regain their characteristics overtime as sonic learns whatever it is he needs to learn in each shatterspace.

For me, Sonic Prime has to end first before I can definitively say it's better than Sonic X. The back half of the show could be a mess for all we know (hopefully not). But I think the writers choosing to give us a more interpersonal introspective on Sonic as a character and his thoughts, feelings, and flaws rather than focusing primarily on how Sonic's personality and actions affect the characters around him (an aspect of Sonic X I think is extremely well done for the character) is a really interesting take on Sonic. The movies and Prime do a really good job at it while staying respectful to Sonic's personality as a whole. The next batch of episodes needs to come sooner than later though.

I agree, with that most adult Sonic fans forget that Sonic is still a intellectual property meant for children.
But adults can enjoy it equally as much as long as they don't take it too serious..
The portrayal of these characters in Sonic Prime is a hell lot better then in the older games that was a bit whack and childish.
Can't wait for season 2..

I really enjoyed Sonic's characterization in Prime. I agree with what you said; he doesn't need to be a perfect, flat character to be an ideal Sonic. He can be challenged emotionally and make mistakes and still be a great Sonic. Overall, I'm loving Prime. It gives me early 2000s vibes, which is the era of Sonic I grew up with as a child.

Sonic Prime is just Perfect. And I’m already in love with Rusty Rose. Was this how it was with Mecha Sally? Because the interaction with her and Sonic are awesome.

I got very emotional at the end of the jungle universe. No spoilers, but I'm glad to see character development in this series. Can't wait to see your next video on this!

Just finished watching the entire eight episodes of Sonic Prime and it was brilliant from start to finish the new voice cast has done a fantastic job portraying each of the characters personalities especially Sonic and Shadow the animation is stunning and I really enjoyed it and give it a super 10/10 can’t wait for season two 👍❤️

If there's any indication of how much I personally am liking Prime so far;

I binged it on Thursday when it came out,
then did it again on Sunday night.

For me, it was way way WAAAAY better than I expected! It really gives my favorite Sonic series, "SatAM" a run for all its money. I still like the character design and the hand drawn animation better in "SatAM, " but Prime has a lot better team effort amongst the characters. The action and storytelling is way more intense as well. I'm so glad Sonic prime has a "freedom fighters" and big dystopian city element to it. That alone makes it feel a bit like a homage to SatAM.

Just came here after finishing it and honestly, YES IT IS TRULY THE BEST, but it cannot beat the other Great Gems. Though it had its Ups and Downs, it was still The Sonic TV Show, that managed to be really Great.

Someone recently described Shadow from the last 10 years as a pizza cutter. All edge and no point.

Sonic Prime has given us the BEST representation of shadow since 06. It’s not where I think it needs to be still, but if this is where it stays I wouldn’t complain. This is _leagues_ better than what we’ve had.

Also I wouldnt mind if this VA replaced Kirk. I think Kirk tries but he just doesnt get it. Prime Shadow 💯
