The source material is a book by Frederick Forsyth, and definitely not the Bruce WIllis movie. It's also written by Ronan Bennett, who wrote all of Top Boy, and it's a 10 part series, so of course there's a lot more to it than was there in the movie. It's just a teaser.

Fred Zinnemann's 1973 adaptation was brilliant! But I know that they had to left out many things of the book to make it a 145min movie - so, I can see the point to make it a series...

I like both versions of the movie. Even the Willis / Gere version. But one thought I've always had on both is that they breeze through the story too fast due to the time constraints of a movie. Interested to see a longer form version where they can really get into it. Just hope it stays faithful to the original while also having to modernify it out of necessity.

53 yrs since Forsyth’s book was 1st made into a movie..will b interesting to see THIS redo…..love his books….
