The building "in the water" is nowadays a museum, but used to be a mill (for grain/ flour). Hence the tunnel, that's where the water used to first push the water wheel, and later turbines.
The mill closed 1946.

Uppsala University was founded in 1477, before Columbus "found" America.

If you love the architecture in Uppsala. Then you should go to Vadstena where you have really old architecture. very small streets full of roses in the summer. Thats the town The Holy Birgitta was born in.

3:30 It is a river. The Fyris river, fairly famous if not very big.

10:30 The University Hall (main building) completed 1887. Oldest University in the Nordic founded 1477, that is not the oldest University building.

The church is 'Helga Trefaldighets kyrka' (Trinity Church) more commonly known as 'Bondkyrkan' (The Farmer Church) since it was for the areas outside of the city (mainly to the west) most of them are now part of the city. Oldest part from 13th century most of it including the tower from 15th century.

How come you didn't enter the cathedral? Maybe you thought that it wasn't open due to the renovations of the towers, but I entered and showed some friends around a year ago when the renovations had been ongoing for a while. If you come back, be sure to check it out (since you seem to enjoy old churches so much). It's largest cathedral in Scandinavia and it's -old-. Like proper old. Construction began during the 1200s. Also Gustav Vasa is entombed in the cathedral, he was like the "founding father" of modern Sweden during the 1500s.

Uppsala is older than Stockholm, not the other way around. In OLD Uppsala, they had a temple worshipping Odin, Thor and Freya. Unfortunately, the Christians destroyed the old temple, when Sweden became Christian.

If you like Uppsala you should visit Sigtuna if you haven't already, it's said to be the oldest town in Sweden, with amazing architecture around the center.

The building is Södermanlands Närkes nation, a sort of student fraternity. I had a lot of party there when I studied in Uppsala.

Now I am curious, did you miss the rune stones in the park in front of the university building, or are you just more interested in architecture than runes?
