Hey! Everyone...
I would like to show my gratitude to Dr. Charu Wadhwa (Presiding Officer,Internal Complaints Committee) Arka Jain University, Jamshedpur,Jharkhand for inviting me and giving me this valuable opportunity to attend 'Shakti-The Celebration of Women Power' as a Guest of honour.
I would like to thanks Vice Chancellor- Dr S S Razi,Director- Mr Amit Shrivastav,Registrar- Mr Jasbir Dhanjal,Dean Students' Welfare- Dr Angad Tiwary, Tarun Kumar (Founder- Nishchay Foundation & Chief Guest of the day).
I specially want to thank my Grandmother, Mother, Father & all my family members for supporting me morally and their presence give me motivation throughout the event in front of this huge audience.

I am Aakash Mahato, a 21-year-old social activist from a village named Nengtasai in Seraikella-Kharsawan, District of Jharkhand. I completed my 12th from Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya and currently pursuing a B.A. Honors in Geography from Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, University of Delhi. I have experienced social challenges and issues in my early childhood around education where I struggled to raise my voice on the same. I joined Pravah Non-governmental organization as a Smile fellow in October 2022 with the passion to support and create access to education in and around my community. In this project, I focused on building awareness among adolescents about their fundamental duties and rights. Since I come from the marginalized section of society having faced similar struggles, I have been working on building awareness of available Government schemes which can support their educational journey. Additionally, I am also mentoring them on how to access higher education and have worked with 100+ adolescents in Mansarovar Park slum, East Delhi, and a government School of Malviya Nagar. I also completed 12th months of internship at SK Children Foundation, where I taught student on virtual mode during Covid-19 lockdown. I have been awarded with ‘Yuganugoonj’ Award in Delhi on 12th February at Hindi Bhawan for my work in Green Pencil Foundation under which I educated teenagers in rural areas and organsied menstrual hygiene awareness campaigns for slum dwellers. Under the Initiative 'Periods of Pride', I have been breaking the taboos related to period poverty and educating youth, especially girls to take care of their health in the right way with better Menstrual Hygiene Management and also focusing on the reusable & recyclable cloth pads. I working as State Head of Jharkhand at Green Pencil Foundation from August 2021 till now. I am also working at Future Care Foundation as a Coordinator-Youth Welfare from April 2022 till now. I would like to give to give a huge chunk of credit to my mother for my success in the field of social work, who inspired me through many social challenges throughout my life and also who taught me how to work with selfishness.
Let's work together to end period poverty.
