The other day the NDAs dropped on the previews that large youtubers were given access to; they were a mixed bag to say the least and left me feeling just as ambivalent as before with perhaps one saving grace...

Wolfheart felt the most honest their were things he liked and thing he really didn't like especially the visual designs of the characters.

I am more excited for Avowed at the moment.

Too flashy in combat. Like, can't even tell what's going on because its just constantly colorful explosions. And more dumbing down of the combat too.

I'll probably watch Slandered Gaming or Wolfheart do a play-through, but this is the first Dragon Age game I'm not even going to buy.

I suspect Wolfheart is pretty much on point. He's a very sensible guy and he was visibly excited about this game and eager to give it a fair shot. So I think that makes his perspective much more valuable and honest. I've informed myself enough about this game to conclude that it's just not for me.

The fact that they added the option to give your character a melanin deficiency, but not proper or attractive body proportions is really telling.

What I have noticed is that it seems like folks who tend to really like action adventure games, are also liking much of what they see in DAV. While many who prefer deeper more complex RPGs (or even CRPGs if you will) seem to be not as excited.

This is a bit of a bummer to me personally, because I feel like this franchise would do much better as a "real" full deep RPG that hits both deep story & deep gameplay systems & mechanics vs it currently a feeling a bit more akin to a more streamlined linear action adventure mixed with RPG. For example I've seen many God of War comparisons, which seems to be a positive comparison for many. While I think GoW is a fantastic franchise, I personally don't want GoW Veilguard.

So as of now I'm not a fan of the overall direction the game seems to be going in, but I'm also going to try to enjoy it for what it is. I did enjoy my first session overall.

At the end of the day though, people need to vote with their wallets.

P.S. I think I can get used to this hair title you have given me 😂 If you end up thinking my opinion is shit though, feel free to change it.

you should see a recent dragon age subreddit post of someone diminishing the "bubble head" look on the characters. It really highlighted for everyone how much the proportions feel off.

I am a simple man, no tactics play, no buy for me. Biggest concern from Fextralife is actually dialogues & story. This already enough to tell us as rpg fans..

Saw on the dragon age reddit, there was an image how how the bodies looked weird in the sizes. They had an image of correcting it, made a huge difference.

I'm sure an ability to adjust your characters' vitiligo, and to add top surgery scars (how stunning and brave, btw.) will more than compensate for your inability to make a busty female character.

I like the character creator overall, but I don’t like how the female bodies look. I want my character to look feminine and curvy (the female love interests get to be, after all). They’re so muscular and boxy
