Powerstroke vs Cummins tug of war. 4x4 didn't work on the Ford (typical) so we had to do it in 2wd. YES I KNOW THIS PROVES NOTHING OTHER THAN WHICH VEHICLE HAS MORE TRACTION, IT WAS FOR FUN although the Ford had a 100hp tuner, Cummins stock with intake and exhaust.

I’m a 7.3 power stroke fanatic but the simple fact is the inline 6 will always drag a V8 backwards with torque alone

I agree, as a diesel mechanic the only thing I have against power strokes is the stupid HEUI fuel systems they have that always fail, along with the simple fact that an 8 cyl has 50% more moving parts than say a cummins which obviously means higher chance something goes wrong. plus every time I open the hood on a v8 diesel i get LOST lol. But the 7.3 is probably the best diesel motor they had other than maybe the new 6.7 but that's too new to know if it's reliable, and it's WAY better than 6.0

I really don't mind Fords, I just much prefer the Cummins over the powerstroke and Dodge over Ford because generally speaking they are cheaper and are more my style.

Ford had 100hp tuner, Dodge only had intake and exhaust. The biggest advantage for the Dodge i think was the 325 Hankook tires, they grabbed hard, everyone thought they had too much flotation and would suck lol

I really don't think the Powerstroke is "the best" lol. Sure, a V8 puts out a smoother powerband and faster accelleration but I'll take a straight 6 over any V8 diesel.

I believe it was open. If it was limited slip, it sure didn't work lol.

yeah i gotta 7.3 and i was leaking oil from my hpop. so far ive heard a lot of good things about the 6.7. at my old job most of our pick up trucks were the 6.7s. very nice trucks. we had like 12 of those, 1 6.7 cummins, and a LMM duramax. oh yeah we had 2 6.0s but they were out of commission. honestly im really interested in the 6.4s. they are a pain under the hood but they make tons of power with just a tuner exhaust and intake. i love the twin turbo set up too that was a good idea.

Towing capacity is just how much the frame can handle pretty much so i never really go by that number. Generally speaking, the V8 will normally be faster and the inline 6 will have more low end torque.

I think they quit using that in the early 90's in trucks and is used in marine applications today. I haven't seen a single V8 in a "big rig" in my 5 years of "big rig" I'm talking like Freightliner, Volvo, Sterling, International, Mack etc. I know they had V8 Cats in older medium duty Fords and flatbeds and straight trucks but pretty much obsolete now due to the fact I-6 is so much easier to work on,

Dodge guys laugh because their cummins supplies the low end torque...thats about it. ...and they still fell under... Figure that out.

pkwydr that why ford got ride of 7.3l couldn't do what the 6.0l could do stock even tho 6.0l was rushed in which made it crap at beginning stock 6.0l has 330hp with 600lbs torque

Sadly your wrong, powerstroke is not a better engine lol.... and they also do not making it navistar international makes it INFACT. out of dodge/ford/chevy DODGE is the only one using an AMERICAN made engine. and theres a reason the heavy duty ford work trucks use cummins brah.
