Time for another expat life in Bahrain video! I've been living in Bahrain for coming up to 2 years now and you guys know that I love Bahrain expat living, but there are pros and cons to everything in life and there are some downsides to living in Bahrain. We've talked about living in Bahrain pros and cons before and today we're just having a lighthearted discussion about things I don't like about living in Bahrain as a woman and an expat.

Some people in this comment section are very biased and ignorant. She clearly said she loves living here and only stated things she doesn’t like about it. I’ve been born, raised and still live here, yet I agree with her. Stop being so close-minded

Most of the people that visit bahrain or live here have always said bahrain is one of the safest and kindest countries, but i do agree on most of the things you have said, there are creepy guys here and there but it really depends on which area you're walking around in, but it still is no excuse, but thank you for this video! :)

hello!! Aimee

As a local I can help you with these following few tips:

-Firstly, for the coins (5's and 10's) am telling you will get more of them; however, you should keep some with you when you are grocery shopping, so you can use them if your bill was for example 910 fils, then can use the 10, doing that will minimize the chance of getting more of those coins :D.

-Secondly, as for the mail the best solution is to signup with Shop and Ship service provided by Aramex, (45 USD paid once) where you will be provided with 30 P.O Boxes around the world including the US, UK, Japan, China, Australia and Canada, so you can use one of those addresses when shopping online and the your packages will delivered to your door step (4.4 BD for the first pound and 3.3 BD for each extra pound); moreover, each package will be provided with tracking number.

-Thirdly, about the cat calling it bothers me too because it gives my lovely country and the people a negative image, but you did the best thing which is ignoring those rude persons.

-Finally, School hours, ahh I know long hours, I just with if they can adjust it one day, I remember when I was at elementary school, on the way to school, I used to snore at the back seat of the car haha.

I wish a great life here in Bahrain!!!!

It doesn't matter what you're wearing - harassment is harassment. It's not weird, it's atrocious. How did you cope with it?

Correction
1. Small coins mostly we give for charity. If you noticed the small boxes next to the cashier almost everywhere.
2. Schools timing is following the 8 working hours a day rule. And we need the afternoon for our social life which is very full comparing to UK or USA.
3. And I mean no offense here . But uncovered women considered dirty by majority. In a way they dont care what u do but they dont accpit it also. And yes the only bahraini will hit on you will those looking for cheap sex.
4. Post offices are working fine if get yourself a post box . As in bahrain houses are loaded with like 15 human in one address . So the best way is to send notification to reach nearest post office to collect whatever u want.
5. For traffic. Just ask locals . We have shortcuts

Bahrain has a postal service. The most straightfoward way to get post is getting your own post box. I think the annual rent for then is 15 BHD per year. It is far more reliable than expecting them to delivery stuff to your door which is most likely never going to happen.

Heyy dear .. i am bahraini girl and my friend he have a business online ... there is no issue in delivering or sending items to other countries by aramex... and it always be delivered within a week .. And about those creepy guys i guess every country there is creepy guys! Even in every family! U cant find a family like everyone are lovely.. i am sorry if u had these bad experiences but on my opinion Bahrain still better than other countries in salaries and taxes and bills also the rent!!! Plus Bahrain is a tiny island but with big hearts.. we never had a problem with black people or other religions like is happening in some countries Who claim freedom of thought..

Agree with the cat calling! It’s a big thing there and it’s really horrible. I’m Muslim so I dress quite modestly and my husband is currently working in Bahrain so I visit twice a year, people do it even when I am walking holding hands with him. After eid prayer a couple years back, I had a headscarf and abaya on so literally covered! Walking with with my husband and it did not stop people! The first time I went there I went to carrefour/formerly Geant alone in the Bahrain mall and a car pulled up and the guy kept asking me do I need a lift and offering me to get in his car, I literally was like what are you doing and why do you think this is okay!!!

Well I was 6 months pregnant in Bahrain, married to a local and still had men asking me "how much" and harassing me. Definitely a big issue with sexual harassment in Bahrain. Would visit again but definitely prefer being in Australia.

Lmao the five and ten coins talk had me rolling 🤣 🤣 🤣.. I'm Bahraini n I'm telling u.. we only use these to buy bread from local bread makers because they're the only ones who'd accept them.. As for ordering online, I order online all the time from amazon, shein n all kinds of shops n my packages arrive with no problems whatsoever through DHL or Aramex.. N trust me Bahraini drivers r actually very safe drivers n we have strict traffic laws! But as u said when Saudi ppl come here then every man for himself.. When I actually see someone driving crazy I immediately look for the license plate n yes 97 percent of the time it's a Saudi plate 😂😂

For the 5 fils & 10 fils .. when a cold store cashier give them to me, I keep them and I use them at the same store within few days and if he wants to say anything I tell him I got them from him two days ago! So he takes them ... same thing if he give me Saudi money I return it to him in few days. 😂
