Had been my favourite TV series, never miss watching, that time l was 15 years old and still love to watch it till now. Love this couple Micheal Landon/Charles Ingles and Karen Grassle. Sadly, few of them have left us. May their souls rest in peace. 🙏🙏

My mom was born in 1928, in Chatfield, MInnesota, a very small town near Rochester, in the Southern part of the state. She grew up on a farm, staying at times with her grandmother, who did not have electricity or indoor plumbing in her house. She loved this show. Mom went to school at times in a one room schoolhouse when her family lived in the "country". She much preferred attending school with her cousins in this primitive structure to the times when she had to attend school "in town". Her family was poor, and during the Great Depression, they were "On Relief". That meant that they had to wear dresses made with specific fabric with small flowers on it. She got milk for free under this program, but she was required to drink it in the basement of her school with the other poor kids. She hated this. Her family had a cow at home; she said she could have as much milk at home as she wanted. She hated being singled out in this way.

I was a student at the Arkansas school for the blind. When we were in school, we knew well the little house books. The character of Mary Ingalls really was blind. And Laura Ingalls Wilder became a beloved writer of children’s books. I loved that part of the show because it reminded me of my childhood. They may have dramatized it a bit, but it is true that schools for the blind in the 19th century struggled and were successful in the education of blind and visually impaired individuals. Thank you so much for sharing.

Loved this great entertaining series, and watched it with my three beautiful daughters during the 1970s and into the 1980s when they were growing up and country decorating was big! We named our middle daughter Rachel Jennifer because I thought it sounded like a Little House on the Prairie name and then found out that Michael Landon had named his new daughter he had with his second wife, Jennifer Rachel! We also named our oldest daughter who is a red head and reminded me of "Half Pint" and named her Eleanor after my late beloved mother but her nickname was "Nell" when she was growing up! Always got a real kick out of the Nellie character and her mother! The 1970s was also the "Holly Hobbie" era which featured a prairie girl wearing a patchwork design dress and poke bonnet, so they had their Holly Hobbie sheets on their beds and the popular Holly Hobbie dolls! Knew what happened to Landon, and Melissa Gilbert, but not so much the rest of them, so thanks for the updates!💗💗💗

The character Ebenezer Sprague was not portrayed by Dabny Coleman. It was Ted Gehring.
