I'm not a... computer doctor or anything, but I can't think of any reason they would change this. Does having five options put more pressure on the servers or something? Does it cost them more money somehow?

I'm not a christian so I don't have an opinion on a lot of the polls, but I'm still curious to see the results. The last answer was a good way to see the results without skewing them.

That is a common practice among companies that offer IT-based products and/or services to the public: make something, then worsen or remove it. Seeing that Google is evil, I'm surprised that it and its subsidiaries (such as YouTube) don't offend their users more in that way.

You have my strongest sympathies. This is one of the things about this world that has the greatest negative impact on my quality of life. People change things all the time. It usually takes something away, there's usually no good reason for it, and then to top it off they usually try to say it's a good thing, if they say anything about it at all. Our world gets more and more constrained all the time, and because each individual instance is something niche like this, most people don't care. I'm sorry you've lost something so important to you. Sadly, it happens to all of us, all the time.
