Journalist Asks: 'Why Do Criminals Commit Crime?'

Let's be clear: bail reform will not target people who made a mistake many years ago and have since changed their lives for the better.

Bail reform targets prolific, unrepentant, violent offenders who refuse to stop hurting others.

It is society's responsibility to protect the vulnerable from these criminals.

That's what a Conservative government will always do.

What a monumentally stupid question.
I worked in the "Justice System" for 23 years and all repeat offenders are psychopathic predators. When your arrest record could fill a small town phone book and your convictions are in the dozens, you are not the victim here.
One of the most important questions in a bail hearing is " if the accused is released, is he likely to re-offend" ?

I have worked with repeat offenders of violent crime and I can assure you, they will often convince themselves that they are more the victims of the scenario than the actual real victims. It is truly bizarre.

That journalist must have majored in journalism with a minor in stupid. Criminals do crime for many reasons : some because it’s easier than working eight hours a day, a dozen cartons of cigarettes are worth a lot of money, some commit crime because they like the thrill, some because they are a Prime Minister and above the law. It is not society’s fault if violent repeat offenders continue to reoffend. Deny bail and put them in jail.

The system has oversupported the criminals to recommit offenses and therefore an accessory in those crimes and victims should sue the accessory and the criminal.
