In this video, I unbox the recently announced Nokia T21, the successor to last year's Nokia T20. This is a practical tablet priced at around 200 euros and tries to bring the same things we've come to expect from the Nokia brand recently into the tablet market. The video covers the hardware, performance, specifications, what the tablet is good at, battery life, gaming performance, what the tablet isn't good at, and who should and who shouldn't consider buying this.

Here is the full breakdown

I mean, the fact that ot can be used as a second display alone is so attractive for me. It's definitely a productivity tool, nothing fancy but I believe that it could be a great product for the price and the audience that it is aimed for.

Watching this video on Nokia T20 tablet! Here are some of my observations.

1. Design wise, T20 is very good. It feels premium in hand. T21 looked a bit off to me.

2. Since I never use tablets outside, and I feel that device of this form factor should ideally be used indoors. I never felt that brightness is an issue. Infact I use it at less than 50% brightness level and it still feels very bright.

3. I should say that the metal body is really useful for a device of this form factor because there is always a chance that you may drop it while holding it. I once dropped this device and there has been a small dent in the metal body but still it's safe. If it would have been plastic, there would have been cracks in the body.

4. I use this device for reading ebooks and for my studies. I feel that this tablet offers a better option for studies as compared to Kindle because the screen size is relatively larger, so it becomes easier to read text books containing illustrative diagrams. In today's world, education is no longer confined to books and using this tablet I could learn from YouTube, Udemy and other sources.

5. I also use this tablet for watching videos from Netflix and Amazon prime. It's true that I cannot watch full HD content on the apps, that's why I use the browser to stream content from Netflix or Amazon prime website.

6. The battery on this device is awesome and I watched entire seasons of friends another popular series on this tablet. Battery could easily last for one or two seasons at a stretch. Normally I have to charge this device once in every 3 or 4 days.

7. There has been once light issue with this device touch screen. It sometimes starts behaving abnormally touching automatically, forwarding videos etc. After removing the back cover in the screen guard this problem has been resolved. Bezels I suppose play an important role on a device of this form factor as it helps in holding the tablet properly.

I'm currently thinking if I should add the Nokia T10 to my collection. It's a more practical size. However only a bit larger than my phone. The only thing stopping me for now at least is the 32GB on board storage. I know it luckily has an expandable memory courtesy of being able to the micro SD card slot. Still the T21 looks interesting!

It would've been the most awesome midrange tablet if they upgraded the screen to 270 ppi and 400 nits of brightness but then again, this is still better than the Samsung tab A8 and almost on par with Redmi Pad.

I just want to know when this is getting a US release date, and if they ever plan to release one with at least 6GB -8GB of system RAM.

Personally I would pick last year's T20 instead of this tablet, mainly because I am a design first kind of person XD
Nice review as always Abdulla!

Dear Abdulla. Thank you always for your enjoyable coverage. I've come to realize that Android 12 (more precisely 12L) new focus on tablets is often overlooked. Sure, its modest, but in 12L you can drag a window to the side for multitasking much like you would in a desktop PC. In my opinion this feature alone makes for great productivity usage over an iPad or previous Androids.

I have the T20 still and thought for all its drawbacks it is still compelling. And the colour of the T20 is far superior. Has that lovely 2 tone when you catch the light. However the lack of HD for Netflix was such an oversight. In the case of the T21 I’m not sure it’s worth upgrading if you already have a T20. The Hd Netflix support in my opinion is the most important thing here as most use a tablet like this for consumption. But I just don’t see it’s productivity aspects as adding any real value, much less any android tablet having productivity adding value. For that I use my iPad Air. Yes it’s very expensive but the pen support is unmatched as is the productivity. The real space that the T21 sits in competition wise is against the Fire HD10 or the Samsung galaxy tab A8 10.5. In that space it’s very compelling, especially with its cellular model. But as a productivity tool, forget it. I personally won’t upgrade this time but if I didn’t have the T20 already, I would certainly buy it as my main consumption device over the limited fire hd 10. Great HONEST video. I liked that you remained unconvinced about it as a productivity tool and wasn’t just making content to appease Nokia. But like you said for the right person it does have value. Bring on the Nokia

Two issues for me with any Nokia tablet, 4GB ram and screen brightness, I run my business from a tablet because I'm highly mobile, Samsung tablet currently, looking too get new tablet as my Samsung battery showing first signs of end off life is coming, plus it only has 4Gb ram. love stock android but as with my phone I won't get under 8 GB ram with next tablet, this I find helps me multi task between apps I use to run my business . Nokia tablets and phones are great but always just fall short off what I need. I don't buy high end, my current phone just a RealMe 6, the 8GB ram this phone has is great for multi tasking. Wish Nokia would lift Thier game, last Nokia device I owned was a Nokia 625, great phone but replaced it with RealMe 6 just for the larger ram. If Nokia came out with a 8GB ram tablet I would buy it if it had okay CPU and okay screen brightness.

If you don't mind, I’d like to see how well it would handle Microsoft teams and other educational apps for the kids at school.
