m a nurse practitioner and live in Spruce Pine. A small town of 2500 half way between Asheville and Boone. We have had no power, water, electricity or internet for 9 days now. FEMA is just now decending into our town. Folk, I want you to know we called Samaritan's Purse on Monday for urgent help with our skilled nursing center (Staff having to go to nearby creek to get water to flush toilets). Samaritan's Purse had not one, but TWO helicopters on the ground Tuesday morning with medical supplies, water, and generator. FEMA (yawn) started showing up yesterday. Please, if you consider donating, donate to Samaritan's Purse. Government may not show up, but Samaritan's Purse does.

Haywood county resident here. Lifelong mountain boy, grew up in Macon county. There is no government here. It's the people helping the people, just like we always have in Appalachia. It's not a conspiracy. Ask anyone who is in the middle of dealing with Helene. I lost my home ( I'm in the Lake Logan area) Ive been denied twice for that big $750 Fema check. My nephew is in Asheville, he said you can smell the bodies. I'm going this weekend to help cut trees and clear debris in Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. I love all my mountain brothers and sisters. We are all together in this

Pray for the linemen. They are finding bodies as they fix the lines.

People, don’t sell your property, hang on for the value of the minerals underground that certain people want and need badly.

On September 26th, 700 soldiers from Tennessee Army National Guard were sent to the middle east. Let that sink in. This situation is absolutely horrible!

Fort Bragg North Carolina is 3 hours south of the devastation and the 82nd Airborne has mobile hospitals, kitchens, communication links and enough tents for all that are needed along with supplies why has the president not authorized a division, 20000 Airborne soldiers to truck up 3 hours and start with the rescue and humanitarian needs of these isolated communities exclamation point this is Criminal

One of the most heartbreaking things is, having to say, as an American, "please read between the lines." We have lost our ability to speak freely on many forums, even about disasters affecting so many fellow Americans. Thank you for your information and keeping it real.

I’m in S.C. near NC line, it looks like a war zone.. I’m still without power, power lines and trees are still over the roads. I’m live alone, 3 huge trees almost fell on my house but praise God he protected me. I’ve been praying for Tn/Nc/Va/Ga/Fl/Sc we have to help each other, no one else is going to help us. Pray for each other, be kind, be the hands and feet of Jesus!

I live in NC, about three hours from the affected areas. My church family and I arrived on Sunday, climbed over debris, and through feet of mud carrying backpacks filled with supplies. There was NO "federal government" person to be found. Not ONE. It was exactly like Patera said, it was townspeople, family, and churches from NC, Tennessee, and even South Carolina. We came home today, and still never saw or spoke with any member of a "federal agency". It has been a WEEK since this occurred. There is still no water, very little power, and spotty cell service. I am still dumbstruck and the level of abandonment, just speechless. Thank you for every dotation or item sent, I promise you, every family I worked with was in tears, grateful beyond words. VOTE, VOTE, VOTE 💜🙏

Hawaii fire, Northern California fires, East Palestine Ohio, Springfield Ohio, and now North Carolina, I detect a trend.

Our granddaughter with only one day off 26 years old went to Asheville with a car load of supplies. She is a blessing to our family and so proud of her driving the 5 hours there and back to work today💕Thank all volunteers 💕

If DC will “allow” you to perish, they will also “cause” you to perish. Bank on it. Now, pray. Love y’all.

Let me take this opportunity to tell the men of the hurricane damaged areas that there’s so much respect to see them pulling together and working hard labor to put their communities back together
