The lady is the singer of Stam1na after they enter Kouvostoliitto.

Viikate is an amazing and unique band combining Finnish 60's style iron wire rock with metal. Their every music video is also like this with great deadpan humour. They have made a tribute album to Motörhead with songs translated to Finnish. It's pretty great.

The fence was an electric fence meant for keeping cattle from escaping. Hence when the first guy peed on it he had these weird expressions when the electric current shocked him. The second guy who drank the gasoline ended up blowing himself up for the same reason. Finnish humour at it's best I suppose.

There's an old Finnish saying: 'If booze, tar and sauna won't help (you), the disease is fatal.'
= 'Jos ei viina, terva ja sauna auta, tauti on kuolemaksi'.
They changed sauna to hauta (grave), and don't really speak of how to help. I mean they mention the word help, but no real advice is given.

Actually met Kaarle Viikate (the singer) at the local record fair a few weeks ago where we were both selling, he was selling some rare Viikate records. Of course I bought some, been a big fan of Viikate since my young teens. Love the melancholy and melodies.

Oh man, thank you for this! They were my no. 1 band for a long time. They have also full cover album of Mötörhead songs translated to finnish. Can recommend Killed by death (kuollut kuin hengetön). Video of the song is also parody of the original Mötörhead video so there's a double header for you.

The songs name translates to Boooze, Tar and Grave, and its kinda reference to this old Finnish saying "If it cant be healed with booze, tar (cigarettes) and sauna, the disease is fatal"
They only changed the sauna to hauta (grave)

The chorus says:
If booze, tar and grave wont help to split the darkness
ember fades, ashes tarnish, the cold finds its way home like frost to home, ashes thick

Those "worst" bikes are legendary Pappa-Tunturi bikes. There is a club that only has those bikes

Kouvostoliitto, also known as Kouvola, is a sister Soviet city of a another city known as Chernobyl/Pripyat.
Just look at their comparison and you will notice, it is hard to tell each other apart.
Also if you know bit of Finnish, you might notice that Kouvostoliitto is combination of Kouvola and Neuvostoliitto (Soviet Union).

There's a really old proverb in Finland: If tar, liquor and sauna does not bring help, the decease is going to kill you. The song's name translates as liquor, tar and tomb and i'm really not even trying to draw some connections with the lyrics and the video. Think they just wanted to make a cool video for the song. The song kinda paints a picture of the Finnish peoples dark mentality and our dark sense of humor too. In my opinion at least it does.


Think you guys could get a new view on the songs, if you would google up the lyrical translation after watching the video and hearing a song on a foreign language. Could be kinda cool to see you have the first impressions and then see how they differ after seeing whan the song was about.

On second part, place where they drive into is Kouvostoliitto, nickname of city of Kouvola, a concrete jungle which absorbs or nullifies everything that enters there.

You mean bikes get better? Because those bikes in last part are legendary Finnish Tunturi "Pappa" bikes. One in minth conditions will cost you several thousand euros.
Pappa means old man or granpa in Finnish. I used to have one those when I was teen. And they keep running with almoust anything, like alchohol, oil based paints etc...
