Thank you for posting this video it makes the process a lot clearer than some of the written instructions I've seen

Thank you so much, it worked. I was reading the first Google result for wiping the cache for Android 5, but the instructions were frustratingly wrong.

Hello there, very informative but, if I may be so bold... What does cleaning the partition cache do exactly?

Thanks for the video. It took me a while and I was getting concerned but in the end it worked. Thanks.

I tried to follow the written instructions but somehow they didn't work for me (for lack of clarity). This 2-mins video demonstrated the entire process in absolute and clear detail. Kudos for doing it so well.

A note: My Nexus 5 (with Android 6.0.1) took more than 5 minutes to wipe the partition. So don't panic: just wait. On the contrary my Nexus 7 tablet took no more than 10-seconds ( yes, seconds). Indeed I have no idea as to the reasons for this queer difference in behaviour.

Ok, uninstalling or disabling google keyboard and then enabling it again worked for me. Cheers.

I did this (nexus 5 w/ lollipop) and it took me like 20 minutes! Maybe I had a lot of stuff in my cache; i'd been using the phone for a solid year before i did this.

Is it a bad sign that I don't have the green android in the background while at the "formatting /cache" screen? I've been waiting about 10 minutes so far.
