Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

Hi Greg, you are doing well, so often people think you will be successful on every challenge but Mother Nature is showing her strength.

People must understand you will not always find food, get fire, have adequate shelter. That is the suck of survival. One advantage you have is your self reliance training.

Love the country out there. I can remember being a young lad living in Comox (mid 70's) and wandering in to the woods looking for bigfoot. Caused quite a disturbance with cops being called and locals about to head out looking for me when I came out of the bush just as the sun was setting. Of course, at that age being bear bait never came to mind, lol. I still think I was passed over for season 1 of Alone because during the interview I was laughing about the amount of food available in that environment. Keep em coming Greg, if you come to Ontario I'll take out you on some Crown Land adventures.
