It does work, but not with every kind of candy cane and if the candy cane has large air pockets it won't work well if at all. Also works best with the ones with low or no corn syrup, it doesn't Though work well with the high corn syrup ones. If you do this I wouldn't use it with glie again personally. My cousins wanted to try this and a few othe things last year. Lots of fun, lots of trial and error, and lots of diferent kinds of candy canes (and other treat) and 3 ruined glue guns with one still of use after all the trouble shooting. (Too much sugar😰)

As soon as you said, "of course we have a candy cane in the soup drawer." I subed. Like what? Im 19 and dont have a shop or anything but you bet your ass im getting a soup drawer! Mine might be chilli but it could also be universally named the can drawer. I'm putting a label on it and everything.

Crayons in a glue gun are kinda sketchy too.
Was experimenting with a method for casting wax bullets.
But hot glue to cast bullets actually works pretty good 👍😎

Bake peppermints or crushed pieces in the oven on top of the cookies. Your welcome. Crushed into fine poweder is better for a glossy coat and saffer on the teeth. 😁

In order to do this experiment you need to do it with a new glue-gun that has not ever been used. That's why it came out black because the candy was mixing with the glue. So next time you do something like this use a brand new one that's not been used. I sure you'll have better results.😊
