these modern "pentium" are just the cheapest Intel Core cpus that are called Pentium. Netburst died with the Pentium D back in 2008.

And now we just patiently await the launch of 12nm Zen+ 1200AF that was recently announced. If they price it at like $60-$65 it's gonna be an amazing budget option

What I find odd is how the 7th Gen Core series went to and beyond 4GHz without any hype, well, any hype that I remember there being, unless am wrong?

You know the tech was always there. My first pc that i bought with my own money took me a year to complete as i had to buy 1 part each month. It was a 3ghz northwood cpu 512kb cache 1gb ddr ram fx 5700 MSI 865 mobo.So after some time i got the urge to oc her.I parked her next to an industrial type fan and off i go on my quest.I ended up at max oc which was 3.66ghz and the only limiter was my ram.Because on older pc's higher you clock the cpu higher you clock the memory.I even tried to force it to run on 400 but it still oc'd.Back in 2003-2004 that was huge.It did one benchmark think it was 3dmark 2003.It was the fastest run ever after that she Bsod and she was never the same again.Max i could oc after that was 3.2ghz.I still have the mobo+cpu around for nostalgia purposes.

Love the channel man as an American I love that you include our pricing and availability. You definitely have a lifetime or channel lifetime supporter here and maybe someday if my computer addiction gets its fill a donating supporter lol.

Retired my old faithful G2020 after 6 years recently in favor of a 1700x. Best pentium ever.... Because that's what the guy at Fry's told me.
