I understand this is not trivial, especially with all the lags and desyncs we have. However, we are in year 12.
Star Citizen never had any halfway decent physics. No one expects perfect physics of course, no one expects another Kerbal, just physics that look alright at first glance.
Either the engine is not up for the task or removing people like John Pritchett and replacing them with young, cheap and inexperienced people isn't the right way to go ...

Moving grids the problem that has never been fixed, why collisions are a mess, why back in 3.x patches you couldn't load anything on the Connie and 600i lifts. Even now its still wonky. That's a hard limit of some sort on the engine. Even damn space engineers got that stuff fixed.

Ships appearing out of thin air look more realistic than this.

I was just about to type, "Well, at least they didn't explode, mate." 😅

I love the fact that CIG is pushing 4.0 and 3.24 is not fixed or released yet!

Do you remember the Elevator Action series? A classic set of arcade games that 1st appeared in the early 1980s. Developed & published by Taito, I do. And I bet CIG could make an excellent new installment and/or modern remake with their top-tier understanding of what elevator action should entail! Quick Chris, raise a Kickstarter campaign !

What's sad is that the only thing in this video that surprised me is that the song from the Modelo commercials is actually a whole (and beautiful) song.

What didn't surprise me is the footage itself. It's precisely what I expect from SC now.

Fidelity! It is a little known fact that in real life elevators phase out of the reality too when moving.

Star Citizen... The good, the bad, and the ugly.

Elite Dangerous seems to have done it right even if they “glued” the ship to the landing pads. Physicalizing EVERYTHING would cause a lot more headaches than “immersion”

Anyone who thinks this game will ever release properly is a Ning Nong.

In about six years and another 600 million they will solve the issue by having tractor beams lift the ship from the deep dark below when the floor opens and hold it in the air until the floor closes back beneath it. But then they would have to invent the tech to keep the ship from falling back through the solid floor, dangit.

Besides how things look, what do we actually have, that doesn't require a lengthy explanation, or string of excuses, to support its existence, or defend its current state?
