In part 3 in my series where i show my jazzrecords on vinyl i show the collection of bebop, cool jazz and hardbop. It is time for some jazz from the 50's and 60's and Art Blakey, Thelonius Monk, Sonny Rollins, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Stan Getz and MUCH more!
I also made a big goof! When i come to the album "The greatest jazz concert ever" i say that it is "The famous Cagney Hall concert", of course i ment "MASSEY HALL"!

I love your taste in jazz. Good morning Jörgen. ♫ That Anthropology looks cool. I keep saying that I have to grab some Charlie Parker. This weekend I will do so. That Donald Byrd Byrd in Hand on Blue Note was a nice find. Jazz Messengers Vol One & Two at Cafe Bohemia is a cool listen. I have Vol Two. The musicians on it are all great. Dorham, Blakey, Mobley and Silver. You can't beat that lineup. You have some very nice jazz albums Jörgen. If I was thumbing through them and I had to guess which VC member owned them. I would have a good shot at mentioning you. I have a good idea what your favorite genres of jazz are. I should by now anyways. We have been watching each other's videos for over eight years. {smile} Have a great day Brother J~

You have a lot of Savoy titles which next to the Prestige and Riverside titles are the most underrated among collectors. Prestige recorded a lot of hard bop and mainstream jazz albums in the 50's and early 60's that I think are more consistent than Blue note. Other Fantasy distributed labels included Contemporary, New Jazz, Moodsville, Riverside, and Pablo.

Much of the Verve stuff though hasn't held up quite as well.

Charlie Parker's live shows and broadcasts were pushed heavy on the gray market with varying degrees of sound quality.

You have alot of early 50's. My main era of concentration is 1954-64 but anything that's hard bop, ballads, bluesy jazz, and mainstream jazz are fair game to my ears.
