Yesterday I was working, on the phone, and listening to music via AirPlay on my smart tv. I also had a timer going because my gf was making me breakfast. It was amazing how I didn’t have to stay in the music or timer app but they sat in my dynamic island. Major multitasking

At first I was excited when they demonstrate the dynamic island, however seeing a big black notch separated from the top is annoying.

i upgraded from the 12 pro max so for me there was an upgrade.. i do enjoy the dynamic island but i really wish it could do more! 😢 hoping more third parties have that support

I’m a iPhone 14 Pro Max user. I prefer the 21:9 aspect ratio. I’d rather blow it up and have the dynamic island block a nondescript part of the screen but preserve the tops and bottoms.

Mono mic audio was on for the first clip and then it went back to only in the left channel for the rest of the video.

I just picked up the 14 pro yesterday and I’m not sure on how I feel about the dynamic Island I don’t love but I don’t hate it I’m simply just meh about the dynamic Island. Now I will say I am intrigued by how the dynamic Island disappears into certain notifications

Notifications should definitely come from the island. If nobody else is going to use the island Apple should. The problem is with ios16 and the fact that they moved notifications to the bottom of the screen 🙄 I guess cause they want us to see our beautiful portraits on the new home screen 🤢 this looks like a perfect example of software and hardware not speaking to each other. The island is really the only difference between last years phone. Lol mine arrives next week 🤦🏾‍♂️ I would hope that Apple has a big update sooner rather than later that forces notifications into the island

Idk if I say it’s gimmicky. It’s definitely useful. I think it needs work. It’s way easier to get to certain apps like gps if your in a different app which is big for me. It’ll definitely become a normal thing. I guess you can say “get old”. But I wouldn’t consider it that. It’ll be useful but simply the way you use your phone.

As long as the Face ID stays, we will see something like this. Dynamic Island is just something that they hide another notch with. The old notch was less noticeable. This one looks annoying.

cool for notifications etc. but changing songs etc garbage. having to reach to the top of the phone all the time is a no go for me. as I can do most stuff 1 handed as it is. coming from a max model too.
