How to write equations for simple word problems: examples

Beginning algebra students (or this could even e in 6th and 7th grades depending on the curriculum) need to learn to write equations for word problems. In this video I go through 3 problems and write an equation for each. One has to do with perimeter, another with area, and the third one has to do with a bar model and writing an equation to match it. The equations themselves are simple; the idea here is to practice writing them.
