This is nonsense that people are whining about Samsung not allowing you to re-map the Bixby button --
Let me ask:
Can you re-map the Google Assistant squeeze or button press on the Google Pixel?
Can you re-map the Siri activation on any iOS device to anything else?

Of course not!
This is not specific to Samsung, but to ALL of the flagship phones.
They (Google, Apple, Samsung) produced the technology, and they want you to use it.

ummm the Note 9 is way more worth 999 than the Iphone X LOL. Big battery, fingerprint scanner, best screen, huge battery, great camera, S pin, great pair of headphones, headphone jack, wireless charging, quick charging. I mean Apple took more stuff off the X and charged more for it LOL.

The colors are not to be discrete. They are to make sure everyone knows you have the Galaxy Note 9. The same can be said for the distinct color patterns for Apple iPhones and Google Pixels. It's all about being easily recognized in a crowd.
