Front End Development Book Review | HTML & CSS and JavaScript & JQuery by Jon Duckett. Learning is so important and although there is an abundance of online learning platforms for front-end development, a good book about HTML, CSS, and JavaScript may just be what the doctor ordered. I bought these book years ago and I have to say it’s refreshing to see a book about programming and code that is written by a human for actual humans. It’s billed as

“A book about code that doesn't read like a 1980s VCR manual...
It's not just for programmers, it's written and presented to make it easy for designers, bloggers, content and e-commerce managers, marketers to learn about the code used to write web pages…” I agree with that statement.

If you are new to Front-End Development, code, website creation, JavaScript, Or have added scripts to your web page but want a better idea of how they work? Then this book is for you.

I've got the pdf versions paired it with a Udemy web dev coarse and few hours a week on YouTube. I was told by a senior web developer who conducted an interview I had a wile back that my job readiness was way past that of a university graduate as I knew all the practical stuff that companies need to make money.
You can imagine how shocked I was

I read these two books in about 40 days (challenged myself) and came out with a pretty good BASIC understanding of JavaScript.

The books are given freely by the author in pdf format in his website. The people who can or want to learn from PDF version can check it out.

I got these on Amazon. They are awesome!!! Your review on them is excellent! Side note: Jon Duckett has “PHP & MySQL: Server-side Web Development” coming out February 24th 2021 (for your viewers that want to step into backend work)

Funny- just bought the first one yesterday after looking through about 20 other similar books at Barnes and noble. Before even watching this video or subscribing to your channel. I thought this book was FAR AND AWAY the best layout for how to understand HTML and css! Then I see your review! Perfect reinforcement!

These are easily the best ( or in the worst case, one of the very best) books to learn HTML and CSS.
I'm about to try that Javascript.

I’m more so in the Back-End of WebDev & apps, but I highly recommend PHP, MySQL & JavaScript (for Dummies series) by Richard Blum. HTML && CSS are overviewed, and for this reason, it was my favorite "all-in-one" book. It never drags out on a concept and I never felt bored or overwhelmed in the thick of it all. Cheers.

Great advice and explanation. As a pure visual designer I am picking up "hard" on code these days, and I am really enjoying it!! I have two design books that I found very interesting to read:

1 - The Shape of Design, author Frank Chimero
2 - Design by Nature, author Maggie Macnab

Not your typical "how to books", but good reads none the less!!

It is beautifully written book that makes learning something as technical and complicated as web development fun and appealing.
