My next door neighbor has a freightliner dumptruck with a 8v92. Every morning at 4 am on the dot he fires that thing up. I love it because its my wakeup alarm. Wife hates it. 😆

When I was a kid, my grandparents had a tandem grain truck a lot like this one sounds. And I can remember my uncle (who was taking over the farm) telling me, the best thing you can do before driving it, is slam your hand in the door about a half dozen times to get good and pissed off at it

Nothing like a good old Detroit. They'll pull like no tomorrow. I retired from driving log trucks 14 years ago. I used to run Macks with straight pipes on them, and I used to love just listening to the sound of them with a good load on them.

Maaaan, THIS just LITERALLY brought TEARS to my eyes! My Uncle Pete had a long nose GMC with the two dogs and a Detroit Diesel in it. The FIRST truck I actually learned how to drive back in the day logging and we would come out of the bottom fully loaded like that, with them DOGS just a barking! Get to the top of the main road and then start CALLIN EM' OFF!!! Thank you soo much my friend for this upload, because it SURELY made my day!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾😇😢👌🏾👍🏾❤💯💯💯

I remember seeing cement mixers in the 70s that sounded like that. It was intoxicating. Took me a few years to realize the difference between 4 stroke and 2 stroke diesels.

Back in the late 80’s to early 90’s our garbage man drove one of these brigadiers. I’ll never forget that sound. We lived on the end of a dead end street, he’d back down, get our trash, then floor it as he left. Screaming up the hill. You could hear that truck until it was probably 3 miles away.

YES indeed! My late father ran a 75w900 with a silver 445 Detroit. This sound brings back a lot of memories. Later as a mechanic I got to work on that truck. Awesome video! RIP"Hotshot"!
