Messiaen's Turangalîla-Symphonie received mainland premiere

Delayed by four seasons due to the Covid pandemic, Olivier Messiaen's gargantuan Turangalîla-Symphonie, his only symphonic output, received its mainland (China minus Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) premiere last night with Zhang Liang conducting the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra at the SHOAC.
He was joined by Zou Xiang on the keyboard and Cynthia Millar on the ondes Martenot.
