Am really enjoying Flourished Peony - top notch production values and Yang Zi and Li Xian are both slaying their roles. Unlike recent so called female empowerment dramas that are nothing but empty boasts about the theme, this one really shows us in a realistic and sobering way what it means to be a strong woman in feudal China. The other pleasant surprise has been The Blossoming Love - the CP is hot, the acting is good and the plot is turning out to be much better than just another angsty xianxia. 2025 so far is off to a good start!
As for Li Ming-who??? I didn't know or care what the big fuss was all about but finally looked him up. He had a bit role playing a real prat in The Hope, which was a terrific drama. I can definitely tell you that anyone who thought he could land anything near a male lead role is seriously delusional.

Sad to hear about Li Mingde... I liked what I've seen of him and think he had a lot of potential as an actor. Hopefully he'll find a way to create contentment and serenity in his work and personal life.
And this week's chart was solid... Pretty much where I'd hoped to see everything, tho Flourished Peony finished higher than I'd expected. Wouldn't be surprised if it was #1 next week....
