Fiscalization in Montenegro was introduced back in 2000, but since then some crucial changes have taken place.
New Law on Fiscalization in Turnover of goods and services implementation started on July 1st 2021.
Now Montenegro is one of the countries that apply the Online type of fiscalization.
All cash registers must be connected to the Tax Administration. Data on business premises, cashiers, software solutions as well as the manufacturers and maintainers of those solutions have to registered at the authorities before start of sales but there is no validation process of the POS application that would be conducted by officials.
Concept is technologically open and not limited by the proprietary solution of any manufacturer.
